Classes are held at A Pleasant Dog unless otherwise indicated.
Any changes to class roster need to be made one week prior to class starting. Our refund policy is 1 week prior to the start date of your class. We will hold a $50 registration fee. This is non-refundable, but is transferable with 7 days notice.
Scholarships are available for the underserved population, contact us for more information.
We require all dogs coming to classes to be up to date on the following vaccines (for their age): Distemper, Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza, Bordetella, Rabies and a clean fecal sample on file with your vet, done within the past 6 months.
If you have two dogs from the same family, they must be enrolled in different classes, unless you have trainer approval.
Our group class roster now includes offerings from trusted community trainers. We choose only the very best trainers to hold classes at our school for dogs. You may be redirected to another trainer’s website if you choose one of these classes. Fear not, you will receive the same Pleasant service you have come to enjoy from our regular classes from these training partners.
puppy 101
These classes are designed to help puppies up to 5 months of age learn basic manners and also resolve problem behaviors, like jumping, mouthing, and potty accidents. If your puppy has an intestinal parasite, even if they are receiving treatment, your puppy must wait to attend puppy class until the stool is clear of parasites. For puppies ages 5 months and younger. This class is not meant to address anxious behaviors like biting, barking, growling, freezing, or fleeing from people or other dogs. This class is for dogs of all ages, puppies, adolescent dogs, and adult dogs with no previous training. Adult 101 teaches basic obedience in a fun and positive setting. We also help work on problem behaviors like counter surfing, chewing, and jumping up. This class is not meant to address anxious behaviors like biting, barking, growling, freezing, or fleeing from people or other dogs. This class continues building on the basic behaviors started in Puppy and Adult 101. We'll also discuss topics such as working with distractions and how to prepare to fade out treats.
Prerequisite: Puppy 101 or Adult 101.

Now we're getting serious! Take your training to the next level and narrow in on the skills needed for the Canine Good Citizen test including greetings, passing other dogs, challenging distraction work, and more advanced versions of the skills you've been learning. We will also polish up some extra skills such as Place and Leave It. Most dogs will leave this class able to perform the CGC skills with treats.

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGreactive class

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGwonderful walks
Is your dog charging ahead and leaving you in the dust, stopping to sniff every blade of grass along the way, or maybe even a little of both? This 4-week mini series is designed to help build connection with your dog and up your walking game!
Please note, while this class will discuss working with distractions, this class is not suitable for dogs who bark, growl, and lunge at other dogs and people on walks.

This workshop will be led by Rose Rucker. She has been competing in frisbee toss and fetch, freestyle flying disc, and local disc leagues all over the country for over a decade. Rose is passionate about fostering the love and relationship in others and their canine companions as well as sharing the joy of the game of disc.

You and your dog will learn some fun new skills each week. Find out what your dog excels in and head into one of our sport classes with a little bit of a head start.

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGcanine good citizen
This class prepares dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Students will fine tune the CGC skills and work on fading out treats as reinforcement in preparation for their test or practice test the final week of class. Dogs must be comfortable working around other dogs, and already have a foundation with these skills. It is recommended that dogs complete a 101, 102, and Intermediate Skills class as prerequisites.

Interested in exploring the world of agility? This class will explore foundations to start your dog off on the right paw and prepare them to take on the bigger obstacles safely with more confidence and skill! Activities in this class can be adjusted to be safe and suitable for dogs of all ages.

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGintro to nosework
Nosework is a fun and enriching game where your dog will learn to sniff out a hidden scent! In this class we will introduce your dog’s first scent (birch) and provide you with your own scent tin to practice at home. We’ll discuss different types of indications and searches, and how to get your dog started with a clear and confident alert!

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGintermediate nosework
This class is for students who have already taken Intro to Nosework and are ready to continue their Nosework journey! This class will focus on building confidence with hidden hides, introducing a second scent (anise), and strengthening your dog's indication for clearer alerts. You may repeat this class until you feel ready to move into the next series.

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGadvanced nosework
This class is for dogs who have a consistent alert on hidden scent and are looking to further their Nosework skills and maintain regular practice. We will work on increased difficulty in skills such as elevation, converging scent, added distractions, and working with 3+ scents in a search. This class repeats on a continued cycle for regular practice and skills will be adjusted to the dogs enrolled.

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGThis is a 60 minute Nosework group practice. Practice searches will be adjusted to dogs in attendance. This practice is open to all dogs who are finding hidden scent. You may choose to do blind searches or know where the hides are.

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGShowcase and hone up your dog's skills with a variety of gameified training exercises! Each game night will feature different training games to focus on a range of skills from basics like leash walking and stay to silly tricks, sniffing, and beyond! Earn points throughout class for your chance to pick a prize at the end. Game Night is a wonderful way to challenge dogs of all training levels!

EVERYDAY WONDERDOGbarkour 101
What is Dog Parkour? Come explore this fun sport where dogs learn to perform a variety of skills using different obstacles in their environment! In this beginner class we will discuss equipment and safety protocols, how to earn Parkour titles with your dog, and begin teaching the core novice level parkour skills. Suitable for dogs of all ages.
Your dog will need a harness for week 4 of this class - we will discuss the type of harness needed in class.

Ready to have some fun? This Beginner Tricks class is suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities. Teach your dog some fun new party tricks while we learn about different training techniques. You will also have the opportunity to earn your AKC Novice Trick Dog title at the end of this class.

Time to get fancy! As your dog's trick training progresses, we will further some long-term skills started in beginner class such as retrieving, roll over, sit pretty, and also add some new tricks to your dog's list. This class is a great way to challenge your dog and you will have the chance to earn your Intermediate Trick Dog title on graduation day!
Pre-requisite: Beginner Tricks Class OR dogs who have earned their AKC Novice Trick Dog title
